Consultation Activity
The Employment and Skills Strategy has been co-designed through consultation and engagement with partners, stakeholders, employers, learners and residents, building on previous consultation undertaken for the:
- SYMCA Skills Strategy
- Sheffield City Goals
- Previous Sheffield E&S Strategy development work
Details of the consultation undertaken on the Outcomes Framework are provided below.
Action Area Plan Consultation
During the Outcomes Framework consultation, a longlist of potential interventions and actions was identified by partners and stakeholders, through which the strategy’s missions could be delivered.
This longlist has been tested and refined with the Sheffield Employment & Skills Advisory Board and Member Task & Finish Group. The refined actions have been grouped into four action areas, each of which will contribute to all three missions.
We are now consulting on the Action Area Plans, which can be found below:
Proposed Actions – Support Sheffield’s employers to grow and thrive through effective skills and employment support (led by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry)
Proposed Actions – Develop effective and accessible skills pathways to good quality employment (led by The Sheffield College)
Proposed Actions – Provide tailored and hyper-local support to address labour market disparities (led by Sheffield City Council working with the VCFSE sector)
Proposed Actions – Work with Sheffield’s anchor institutions, employers and investors to maximise social value (led by Sheffield City Council and the city’s anchor institutions)
The lead organisations in each action area will work with partners to develop the detail of each proposed action once the strategy is approved.
We are now asking partners and stakeholders to provide final feedback on the proposed actions. In particular:
- Are there any actions which you think should be given greater priority than others?
- Is there any existing activity that contributes to achievement of the missions that we should build on?
- Are there any gaps in the proposed actions which would prevent us from achieving the agreed missions?
Please provide your views on the above questions to bridget@kadaresearch.co.uk by 5pm on Friday 24th January 2025.
Outcomes Framework Consultation
- Consultations were held to confirm the priorities identified within each mission, and activities to deliver the associated outcomes and impacts.
